Aerobatic Experience in MiG-29 (25 min or 45 min)

The MiG-29 "Fulcrum" is one of the most advanced jet fighters in Russian Air Force. It was designed for gaining and maintaining air-superiority.

During your MiG-29 "Fulcrum" flight several aerobatics – from basic to advanced – will be performed. The level of difficulty depends on your state of health. Maneuvers such as Flying Inverted, the Hammer Head, the Roll, the Loop, the Low Level Pass and others will be executed. We offer two flight programs for the MiG-29 which differ in flight duration – either 25 minutes or 45 minutes.

Program of 25 minutes of Aerobatics is a subsonic flights, for 45 minutes program supersonic flight is included.

The duration of the total Aerobatic package experience in the MiG-29 should last 3 hours but the memories stay all your life. The flight preparation procedure takes half an hour. You can talk with the pilot about the flight’s program; have a blood-pressure check, put a special pressure-suit and a helmet with an oxygen mask. When ready, you will will be ferried to the airfield for an inspection of your unique aircraft which is the envy of world’s aircraft industry. You will check all control surfaces and mechanisms under the supervision of your pilot, and then he will give a detailed explanation of all the functions of all the cockpit’s displays and instrumentation.

Once airborne and after reaching the maximum altitude, the MiG-29 "Fulcrum" fighter jet will descend to an altitude of between 5 and 6 km, and the pilot will begin performing his aerobatics. These high-altitude aerobatics can be performed a long distance from the Sokol Airbase but in case your friends MiGht like to watch the advanced aerobatics, with you on board, just as in an air show. You will be able to have constant communication with the pilot and may modify your program or severity of the aerobatics. G-forces range between 3G and 7G.

The Aerobatics flight is flexible and the pilot may adjust the program according to how you are feeling.

Aerobatics + Edge of Space in MiG-29

Our company together with Sokol Airbase created and developed a unique program consisting of flying to the "Edge of Space" combined with the experience of aerobatic maneuvers in a MiG-29 fighter jet. This program has existed for almost a year. Why did we create this program? We have had unprecedented numbers of requests from people who are already our customers, to satisfy two goals – to reach the stratosphere (an altitude of 21-23 km) and also have a high performance aerobatics experience, on top! The arguments against using a MiG-31 for setting up the Edge of Space program were following:

The MiG-31 cockpit design prevents sufficient observation at an altitude of 21-23 km... it is narrow, and prevents tourists from fully enjoying the views of space.

The MiG-31 frequent and regular service inspections are too severe to allow the aircraft to be used regularly for this specific type of adventure.

At the same time, the demand for flights to the stratosphere keep growing and that is why we provide the Aerobatic maneuvers and Edge of Space program which consists of two separate flights.

The Aerobatic maneuvers and "Edge of Space" adventure, including the pre-flight preparations, in a MiG-29 "Fulcrum" fighter jet lasts 3-hours but the memories, stay with you for your whole life. You will see the Earth from this tremendous altitude. You can see the highly distinctive boundary between the blue sky and black outer-space. Feel the adrenaline rush as you reach the Edge of Space at supersonic speeds! Day one: On arrival in Moscow, you will be met by our English speaking company representative. The representative will help you to get to the hotel in one of our chauffer driven vehicles. On arrival, you will check-in to the luxury 5-star "Golden Ring Hotel." You will be given instructions about the tour program and given a mobile phone to contact us and then you will have free time to relax. 9 am - 9:30 am – you will be welcomed in your Alexandrovsky Garden Hotel reception by our English speaking staff. Your Russian MiG-29 flight program will start. You will be chauferred to Sokol Airbase inone of our luxury cars. During the trip, you will pass the historical downtown area of Nizhny Novgorod.

9:30 am - 9:45 am – arrival at Sokol Airbase gates, with security check procedure. It will be necessary for you to have your passport and MiGration card ready. Photo and video cameras are prohibited from entering the base. So, we strongly recommended to purchase your unforgettable movie from our company and have a great record of your MiG-29 flight in Russia.

9:45 am - 10:30 am – transfer from Sokol gates to Sokol Airbase Museum for a guided tour guided tour.

The museum is located inside the airbase and available exclusively for our clients. You could not visit it just coming in from the street. The museum is a separate building with 2 floors. In front of museum, you can see the real older aircraft - La7, MiG-15, MiG-17, MiG-21, MiG-29, MiG-25 and MiG-31.

The first floor of museum is devoted to the history of the company from its inception in 1932, to-date, including World War II.

The second floor describes the manufacturing processes of the aircraft from raw material through to the flight tests.

10:30 am - 11:00 am – transfer to the Sokol runway and the flight station for your MiG-29 aerobatic maneuvers or MiG-29 "Edge of Space" flight, plus meeting with the pilots and instructors.

During instructors’ briefing, you will be informed about flight program, you can voice your preferences and we will do our best to satisfy them.

11:00 am - 11:15 am – Medical check. Our doctors will check your blood-pressure and your general health conditions. A special medical check in advance is not required.

11:15 am - 11:30 am – you will go to the dressing room to put on your flight suit. For your MiG-29 Edge of Space flight you will be put in a special pressure or G-suit. Here, you will also be shown how to use your helmet and oxygen mask. All the processes will be recorded by our camera man.

11:30 am - 12:30 am – trip to the runway, together with your instructor, for your personal MiG-29 flight.

The instructor will explain all the instruments and radio communications to you, as well as details about the aircraft, and in the MiG-29 cockpit. After all explanations, the canopy will close, the aircraft systems will be checked on the ground.

Now you are ready for show time!!!

12:30 am - SHOW TIME. Depending on your flight program you will spend 25 to 50 minutes in the air flying the MiG flight of your dream! You will feel the power of the aircraft, just after take off and the speed will be extreme! Ready for maneuvers?

Welcome!!! But first, our pilot will check your condition with small G-force, increasing it according to your reactions. If you are ok – the airshow starts! Loops, rolls, inverse loops, turns, etc., amazing Tail slide, Hummer and

Pugachevs Cobra to finish off! Of course, you will pass sound barrier with speeds from 1.1 to 2.5 Mach depending on the MiG-29 aircraft and flight program!

And the climax… the pilot will say to you, "Take control!" and the legendary MiG fighter will be yours to control!

But first - if you are flying to the Edge of Space you will receive a view of a lifetime! Black sky, brilliant stars and bluish sphere of the Earth will be so near at that altitude of 65,000 feet! You are now at the Edge of Space! Your dream has come true! Your trip to Russia is real! Now you are a real pilot of the famous MiG-29!

Here, at an altitude of 65,000 feet and speed of Mach 2.5 you will understand that you made right choice to fly Edge of Space in Russia! Because if you compare with Edge of Space in Capetown, South Africa using British Electric Lightings the Thunder city planes are much older and not modern aircraft, their speed and altitude is less and you are not as close to the stars!

Your pictures and video will be sent to you by express mail within 4 days from Russia with love to be shown to everybody!!!

approx. 1:30 pm 1:45 pm – landing on the runway. After the canopy opens, you climb to the ground and see just how big our planet is, which seemed so small from the Space view. You will receive special professional photos, with your pilot standing in front of the MiG fighter for a wonderful memory of your tour to Russia. But it’s not the end of the program at Sokol airbase…!

1:45 pm – 2:30 – after changing again, you can relax and take a shower after your exhilerating MiG flight and get ready for a special ceremony. Our pilots and all the staff of the Sokol Airbase will present you a personal Certificate, confirming your MiG-29 flight during your trip to Russia. All MiG flight parameters will be written on the Certificate. If you are a pilot and have your own flight book–a special signature will be confirming your flight hour on legendary MiG fighter! Of course, this historic moment will be included in your MiG flight movie and photo album.

2:30 pm – 2:45 pm – you can say "Good bye" to the Sokol staff ready to return for your next MiG flight. Now your are the part of our family!
